Panel Expected to Feature Educators and Victim Families and Experts in Behavioral Risk Management, Crisis management and Technology

CHANTILLY, VA / ACCESSWIRE / April 30, 2018 / Novume Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: NVMM), a holding company of leading specialty professional services firms, announced today that its subsidiary, Firestorm Solutions, LLC, will host a roundtable discussion on best-practices and solutions for averting school violence May 10 at the National Press Club in Washington D.C.

The panel is expected to include experts in behavioral risk management, crisis management, and technology, and educators and victim families. Topics to be covered include identifying those on a path to violence and strategies for intervention to prevent guns or other weapons from ever making it into a school.

“Firestorm has been engaged directly in responding to hundreds of school crises, emerging threats, and violent events. Looking at banning certain types of firearms, increasing security in schools, or having active shooter training is a step, and if properly implemented, may reduce the number of deaths, but it’s not a complete solution,” said James Satterfield, Firestorm’s CEO, President, and Founder. “Without a more comprehensive plan of action, the frequency of these violent events is likely to increase. It’s crucial to identify and react properly to the behavioral warning signs that first arise, before a violent act occurs, and we believe we have developed a program to do just that.”

In conjunction with the roundtable event and in an effort to change future outcomes, Firestorm will release to schools at no cost its best practices formula First Look/Last Stand™ – a nine-step process that every school in America can use to prevent violence. First Look/Last Stand is designed by the crisis management team that led support after the 2007 Virginia Tech shootings, and can leverage artificial intelligence combined with a rapid school coordination team to identify and screen concerning behaviors in real time.

“Firestorm has a demonstrated history in successfully managing crises and responding to violent events. Their expertise on how to both prevent and react to such incidents is second to none,” said Robert Berman, Novume’s CEO. “Firestorm’s First Look/Last Stand program, leveraging advanced artificial intelligence technologies, is another example of a Novume company being innovative to bring concrete solutions to real world problems.”
