A series of multiple-car crashes – at least one involving up to 100 vehicles – has shut down traffic in both directions on the Pennsylvania Turnpike this morning as the region continues to struggle in the wake of an epic 1-2 winter storm punch.

Thirty cars were involved in one of the collisions eastbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike at the Bensalem exit. The crash occurred at the height of the morning rush – as drivers drove into a bright sun – about 8:15 a.m.

There were multiple accidents along the eastbound lanes of the Turnpike from Willow Grove (Exit 343) toward Route 1 (Exit 352) in the Feasterville/Trevose area of Bucks County around 8:15 a.m.
