The high-profile articles written in major national publications have increased the willingness of victims to come forward. Also\, as a result of the exposure of practices in the faith-based community\, over decades\, many states have changed their statute of limitations for both civil and criminal cases of sexual abuse. Furthermore\, many jurisdictions have tightened up their standards for what can be considered consensual sex between a person and someone in a position of authority. \n#METOO is increasing focus on these behaviors of concern.
