SUMMARY:Terrorism or Lone Wolf – Does it Matter? - A Firestorm Virtual Stress-Test Event
DESCRIPTION:You must register via this link: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2723901895445333507 \nLas Vegas. New York. San Bernardino. Manchester. Texas – the list unfortunately continues. This year alone we have seen multiple cases of mass violence in the world. \nWe see the headlines. We watch the news. The images and death and injury counts are a wakeup call to us all. There are two million violent incidents in workplaces and two million episodes of bullying in our schools each year. We see widespread domestic violence. We have failed to identify and address behaviors of concern before they escalate into a path of violence. \nWhat can we do? \nAct. We have the tools. Does your company\, school\, or church have a workplace violence program that incorporates a complete shut-down after an incidence of violence occurs? Incidences of mass shooting\, even if unrelated to your specific location\, can close your facility\, business or campus for weeks. How will you respond? \nPlease join the Firestorm® Senior Leadership Team and key\, national partners as we guide participants through a series of escalation events\, with participants applying their own crisis management and active shooter response plans to each stage of the escalation. \nAbout Firestorm: \nFirestorm® is America’s CRISIS COACH®. Since 2005\, Firestorm has assisted clients in transforming crisis into value. The Firestorm PREDICT.PLAN.PERFORM.® methodology combines best-practice consulting with proven crisis management expertise\, empowering clients to manage risk and crisis. \nFirestorm assesses\, audits\, develops\, trains and tests strategies and programs encompassing emergency response\, business continuity\, crisis management and crisis communications/PR. SUMMARY:CMS Rule Preparedness Program Session
DESCRIPTION:THIS INFORMATIVE SESSION IS FOR HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATIONS AFFECTED BY THE CMS EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS RULE ONLY\n\nFirestorm has decoded the 600+ pages of the new Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Emergency Preparedness Regulation and is providing a no-fee webinar to explain what needs to be done to be in compliance. Don’t let the new CMS Emergency Preparedness Regulations jeopardize your healthcare organization’s Medicaid and Medicare Certificate of Participation (CoP) or your Conditions for Coverage (CfC). \nCMS found that while many providers and suppliers have emergency preparedness requirements\, those requirements do not go far enough in ensuring that these providers and suppliers are equipped and prepared to help protect those they serve during emergencies and disasters. This rule establishes a consistent framework that mandates incorporation of best practices and lessons learned in emergency preparedness. The rule details the 17 types of “facilities” that are covered under the regulation. This final rule will be enforceable on November 15\, 2017. No extensions are anticipated. \nAbout Firestorm: \nFirestorm® is America’s CRISIS COACH®. Since 2005\, Firestorm has assisted clients in transforming crisis into value. SUMMARY:The University of Alabama and Firestorm Present: It’s Flu Season\, Where’d Everyone Go?
DESCRIPTION:You must register via GoToWebinar for this event at the URL: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/114723422680573697 \nIf 45 percent of your employees couldn’t work tomorrow\, what would you do? How long could you conduct business as usual? \nUnlike the disasters that most organizations plan for\, a disease outbreak will not affect equipment and facilities\, but rather the people that organizations depend upon to produce products and services. The current assumptions about illnesses’ duration push the boundaries of most existing absence-from-work policies. The strain on every aspect of daily life – from the delivery of goods and services to the support of the national infrastructure – will be tested. \nOrganizations must thoroughly examine and refine their practices and policies that address the long timeline of an illness event. \nPlease join us as Firestorm Principal and Licensed Pharmacist\, Ken Mercer\, explores the risks associated with employee absences and communicable illnesses. \nAbout Firestorm: \nFirestorm® is America’s CRISIS COACH®.
Join Kevin McIntyre for this session. \nAbout Kevin ‘Mac’ McIntyre: \nFirestorm CMS Rule subject matter expert Kevin “Mac” McIntyre is a seasoned strategic planning and crisis and emergency management senior leader. Mac has held multiple senior leadership positions with broad preparedness responsibilities including strategy and policy initiatives around the National Guard’s Homeland Response mission in the Emergency Management Crisis Response arena. His roles have included Air Force Medical Group Director\, Director of Corporate Training\, Senior IT Consultant/Project Manager and many more. \nAbout Firestorm: \nFirestorm® is America’s CRISIS COACH®. But by comparing traditional business continuity plans and mobile solutions\, it is clear that there is a widening gap between companies’ requirements and the recovery options available. \nThis gap is increasingly being filled by flexible workplace recovery\, which utilizes a number of flexible office and co-working spaces\, offering a real alternative for the future. \nPlease join Firestorm CEO and President Jim Satterfield as we discuss what options are available when even the most well-built\, resilient facilities become inaccessible following a significant widespread disaster.
SUMMARY:Picking Up the Pieces – Critical Decision Support After a Crisis - A Firestorm Virtual Spotlight Session
DESCRIPTION:You must register via GoToWebinar for this event at this URL: https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/2103269366371284483 \nFirestorm advises clients on developing specific measures needed to protect business\, revenue\, clients and employees\, before\, during and after a time of crisis\, transforming crisis into value. \nThe value of a company is a direct function of its ability to sustain revenue generation and profitability. This conclusion may seem obvious. However\, most corporations lack compliance programs to assure shareholders\, employees\, and clients that the corporation can continue to perform in the face of known identifiable vulnerabilities. \nEverything is foreseeable. Anyone can be found accountable. \nIf directors and officers neglect to prevent or mitigate foreseeable disasters or prepare for those that are not preventable\, the business-judgment rule will not shield them. They are exposed to liability if they fail to act in good faith and exercise due care. \nPlease join Firestorm CEO and President\, Jim Satterfield\, and Firestorm COO\, Hart Brown\, as they explore how a well-designed and executed plan can transform a crisis into value\, and supports senior leadership in critical decision-making in times of crisis. \nAbout Firestorm: \nFirestorm® is America’s Crisis Coach®. SUMMARY:The University of Alabama and Firestorm Present: What Should Every Leader Know? Crisis Intuition
DESCRIPTION:You must register via GoToWebinar for this event at the URL: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/1749833552620416513 \nIn a business-as-usual state\, a leader’s intuition often plays a very real role in the decision-making process. Successful leaders’ intuition draws on years\, perhaps decades\, of experience in their business or area of expertise\, and many leaders have learned to rely on their intuition. But\, what happens when these leaders are thrust into an unfamiliar situation – a business-as-unusual situation – making decisions in crisis? Will their intuition serve them well in crisis? \nJoin Firestorm Principals Guy Higgins and Jennifer Freedman as they explore intuition as a decision-making tool – during times of both business-as-usual and business-as-unusual. When is intuition a valuable tool and when is it an “albatross”? The presentation will help attendees understand the strengths and limits of intuitive decision making and how to make intuition work for them in a crisis. \nAbout Firestorm: \nFirestorm® is America’s CRISIS COACH®.
