SUMMARY:Firestorm Presents: Stop the Madness – Preventing the next act of violence in our schools
DESCRIPTION:We all want to stop school violence – but how? \nThe key to change is implementing a process for identifying those on a path to violence and intervention before the weapon comes to school. \nThe school violence solution is behavior. The solution can be found in understanding behavior\, not adding modalities to limit casualties. When asked\, every school states\, “we have something.” Something is not enough. Looking at banning certain types of firearms\, arming teachers\, or active shooter training is something — if properly implemented\, that may reduce the number of deaths —but is not a total solution. \nWe must respond when behavioral warning signs first arise before the violent act occurs. Without this change\, we will continue to see more school violence and loss of life in our nation’s schools. No one wants to call a family and share that their child is not coming home from school today. \nJoin Firestorm leadership in this 45-minute webinar as we discuss the 9-element formula to prevent incidents of violence in our schools. SUMMARY:Firestorm Presents - Creating a Crisis Communication Roadmap (For EDU)
DESCRIPTION:All schools are vulnerable to crises. Crises\, however\, are not always unavoidable. Mapping how to communicate to stakeholders after a tragedy or incident cannot be overlooked. \nA key step in effective crisis communications planning is to develop clear and concise messages that address questions and concerns. One of the most powerful tools for preparing these statements is through message mapping. \nA message map is a set of pre-written statements that form a roadmap to manage communication during a crisis. \nListen in on a message map conversation with Firestorm Chief Marketing and Technology Officer\, Karen Masullo\, and Ohio Northern University Assistant Professor of Public Relations\, Dr. Kathie Fleck\, APR. In this webinar\, they will discuss how to develop and deploy a series of message maps when your organization suffers a crisis. They will review how to return to the three key home bases: \n\nWe will not be defined by this event\nWe will invent the future\nWe will embrace those impacted by the event\n\nYou must register via this link: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/1691953073012271875

SUMMARY:Predictive Insights – Looking for Clues in Advance of the Next Active Shooting Event
DESCRIPTION:It’s important for crisis professionals to not only think through their most immediate use case but to be predictive where possible about future needs. Organizations achieve this goal through the analysis of the organization’s overall growth strategy. \nIn a crisis\, through the combination of leveraging technology\, tools\, expertise of analytics\, and identifying behaviors of concern\, we can respond to the crisis while keeping the organization’s goal of resiliency in mind; we not only aid in critical decision support in times of crisis\, we may be able to foretell and prevent a crisis altogether. The answer to keeping our employees and others safe lies in preventing a deadly event from occurring. It is the job of every responsible leader to try and prevent acts of violence. \nIn this half hour or 45-minute webinar\, Ann Pickren\, President of OnSolve (the market leader in delivering critical notifications and alerts) and Jim Satterfield\, CEO of Firestorm (America’s Crisis Coach)\, will discuss how you can work toward eliminating crisis surprise\, disaster denial\, and self-deception by using technology and analysis to identify potential violent issues before they evolve into crisis. \nYou must register via this link

SUMMARY:Anticipating the Known and Unknown - Planning for Your Next Crisis
DESCRIPTION:Every act of violence requires a unique response because no two events are alike. \nA common denominator of all crises is the need to plan before one strikes; and regardless of the type\, communication is critical before\, during\, and after an event. It can be the difference between chaos and clarity. \nIs planning for a deadly weapons attack on every to-do list? Maybe not. Should it be? Absolutely. \nCrises impact organizations of all sizes. Other business priorities can make it convenient to believe that violence will not visit our workplace. Don’t fall victim to that “disaster denial” thinking. Proper planning and preventative systems for emergency communications and response is the strategy to prepare people to save lives. \nJoin Ann Pickren\, President of OnSolve (the market leader in delivering critical notifications and alerts) and Jim Satterfield\, CEO of Firestorm (America’s Crisis Coach) as they review not only the importance of planning but how to plan for your next crisis. \nYou must register via this link

SUMMARY:Performing in the Darkest Hour - Responding to an Act of Violence in Your Organization
DESCRIPTION:Workplace. Violence. \nThese are two words you never want to be associated when referencing your organization. But they are connected all too often. Is your organization prepared to respond to an incident of violence? \nWhat happens when violence does strike? Does your organization have a violence response program? Does that program incorporate business resumption planning and stakeholder communication? How will you communicate with employees\, stakeholders\, and others during and after a crisis? \nDo not wait until after a crisis to answer these questions. The time to prepare is now – not when you have to make a call to someone stating their loved one will not be returning home. Join Ann Pickren\, President of OnSolve (the market leader in delivering critical notifications and alerts) and Jim Satterfield\, CEO of Firestorm (America’s Crisis Coach) as they walk attendees through preparedness best practices and action steps to take when violence enters your door. \nYou must register via this link
