SUMMARY:2017 RenWeb Power Conference
DESCRIPTION:Are you attending the 2017 RenWeb Power Conference in Dallas\, TX? This year’s conference will be held from July 11-13 at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Dallas. \nFirestorm President/CEO/Co-Founder\, Jim Satterfield will be attending the conference and presenting three sessions. Joining Jim and representing Firestorm are Missan Eido and Chad White. \nJim’s sessions will focus on monitoring and identifying potential risks to your school\, updating crisis plans and understanding that every crisis is a human crisis. \nWhile Firestorm® uses this phrase to focus the impacts of disasters\, crises\, and violence on people\, it also applies to understanding the likelihood and immediacy of events. Whether violence or cyber-bullying\, there are warning signs and indicators of school violence. Missing recognition of behaviors of concern or failing to listen to what is being said empowers escalation to violence. Knowing before the gun comes to school is a critical intelligence planning responsibility for every school. The earlier a problem is detected\, the less impact it will have. \nIt should be the aim of every school to create a culture where safety from violence is a common goal of both teachers and school leadership.  To achieve such a culture\, warning signs must be recognized and understood; everyone must know how to report behaviors of concern; there must be procedures in place to investigate when there are concerns; and trained school employees must know when to conduct a behavioral risk assessment and have the necessary resources in place to do so. \nAttendees to the Firestorm sessions will receive a one year license for the Firestorm Behavioral Risk and Threat Assessment Program (BeRThA®) at no cost. \nThe three sessions are as follows: \n\nOpen Source Intelligence – How do you know what you don’t know?\nOne of the top three failures in a disaster or risk is the failure to monitor all threats and risks. The majority of companies today do not have a formal Threat Intelligence Program in place.  There is not a specific plan with dedicated resources and tools in place. Many schools have portions of the solution\, but lack a formal integrated solution.  Where do you start? What are the essential components of an Intelligence Network? \nAttendees will: \n\nLearn outsource-intelligence strategies and tools\nReceive Open-Source Intelligence Guide to support the design of their own intelligence network based on their specific Risk and Vulnerability Profile\n\n\nCrisis Index™ – Is this event an incident or a crisis?  How significant is the crisis? What are the impacts? How widespread are the\n \nJim Satterfield Firestorm CEO\, President and Co-Founder \n\nimplications? Is the crisis escalating or declining?\nThe Firestorm CRISIS INDEX™ provides a uniform evaluation to compare crises and evaluate appropriate actions and communications needed. In the rush to communicate\, errors are made\, and exposures increase. Understanding the reach\, context\, and acceleration of social and traditional media perceptions in a crisis empowers management to guide decisions and crisis communications. CRISIS INDEX algorithm addresses three dimensions quantitatively. The three dimensions are: OUTRAGE (Shocking\, Offensive\, Despicable\, Shameful\, Crazy\, Beyond Belief\, & Extreme); FAULT (Responsibility\, Culpability\, Accountability\, & Liability); and FEAR (Panic\, Alarm\, Terror\, Dread\, Anxiety\, Horror\, Concern\, & Worry). \nAttendees will: \n\nLearn the key crisis questions and strategy actions\nDevelop crisis messages\nExperience decisions actions\, and communications in a crisis scenario\n\n\nActive Shooter (Update your plan)\nDon’t wait until the Active Shooter is at your school. Attendees will receive one year  license to the Firestorm Behavioral Risk Threat Assessment Program (BERTHA®).  Every Crisis is a Human Crisis. While Firestorm® uses this phrase to focus the impacts of disasters\, crises\, and violence\, it also applies to understanding the likelihood and immediacy of events. Whether violence or cyber-bullying\, there are warning signs and indicators. Missing recognition of behaviors of concern or failing to listen to what is being said empowers escalation to violence. SUMMARY:CMS Rule Preparedness Program Session
DESCRIPTION:THIS INFORMATIVE SESSION IS FOR HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATIONS AFFECTED BY THE CMS EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS RULE ONLY\n\nFirestorm has decoded the 600+ pages of the new Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Emergency Preparedness Regulation and is providing a no-fee webinar to explain what needs to be done to be in compliance. Don’t let the new CMS Emergency Preparedness Regulations jeopardize your healthcare organization’s Medicaid and Medicare Certificate of Participation (CoP) or your Conditions for Coverage (CfC). \nCMS found that while many providers and suppliers have emergency preparedness requirements\, those requirements do not go far enough in ensuring that these providers and suppliers are equipped and prepared to help protect those they serve during emergencies and disasters. This rule establishes a consistent framework that mandates incorporation of best practices and lessons learned in emergency preparedness. The rule details the 17 types of “facilities” that are covered under the regulation. This final rule will be enforceable on November 15\, 2017. No extensions are anticipated. Join Kevin McIntyre for this session. \nAbout Kevin ‘Mac’ McIntyre: \nFirestorm CMS Rule subject matter expert Kevin “Mac” McIntyre is a seasoned strategic planning and crisis and emergency management senior leader. Mac has held multiple senior leadership positions with broad preparedness responsibilities including strategy and policy initiatives around the National Guard’s Homeland Response mission in the Emergency Management Crisis Response arena. His roles have included Air Force Medical Group Director\, Director of Corporate Training\, Senior IT Consultant/Project Manager and many more. \nAbout Firestorm: \nFirestorm® is America’s CRISIS COACH®. Since 2005\, Firestorm has assisted clients in transforming crisis into value.
