Unlike the disasters for which most companies, schools and organizations plan, a disease outbreak will test the resolve and strain the resources of even the most robust organization. The current assumptions about an outbreak’s duration push the boundaries of most existing absence from work policies. The strain on every aspect of daily life – from the delivery of goods and services to the support of the national infrastructure – will be tested. Organizations must thoroughly examine and test their outbreak and communicable illness response plans, management practices and policies, and test, refine and implement policies that address the long timeline of an illness event.
The current Zika Virus is an excellent example of an insect borne disease that mimics other insect borne illnesses and can create panic and confusion. Scientists expect that clusters of Zika virus outbreaks will occur this summer in the continental United States with the potential to affect up to 30 states, as far north as Washington, DC, Philadelphia, and New York City. The majority of steps needed to prepare for this risk are operational.
In this web-based, two-hour stress test, our expert panel led by Firestorm President Jim Satterfield will test your team’s response to the potential impacts of a disease outbreak including impacts on physical infrastructure, lost work, lost revenue, lost wages and lost personnel. In a pandemic, everyone feels the impact whether they become infected or not.
Schedule your entire team and join us to test your current plan to shore up strengths and identify and address weaknesses.
Join Jim along with industry experts, Dr. Donald Donahue JR., DHEd, MBA, FACHE, Dr. Steve Cunnion and Katrin “Kathy” Schatz (representing Jackson Lewis P.C.), for this high-powered session.
