VAIS and Firestorm: But It Was Such A Little Phish– A Firestorm 2016 Forum 2nd in Series

February 9 @ 10:00 am - 10:45 am EDT

VAIS and FirestormMore than 156 million phishing emails are sent globally every day.

  • 16 million make it through filters
  • 8 million are opened
  • 800,000 links are clicked
  • 80,000 fall for a scam every day and share their personal informationRegister Webinar Image

A spear-phishing attack consists of a message (in an email, SMS or in some instant messaging application) that is carefully crafted in order to lure a person into downloading a malicious attachment, or clicking on a malicious link. It differs from traditional phishing attacks in that spear-phishing attacks require research before they are executed.

As detailed in the 2015 Verizon Annual Data Breach Investigations Report, 23 percent of recipients opened “phishing” emails and 11 percent clicked on attachments.

Of hacks that led to full breaches, 38% compromised systems in seconds and 38% took days to contain. Over the past 11 years, 96% of all security incidents fell into nine basic patterns, with the top 4 patterns involve human error or misuse.

Join us as Jim Satterfield, President and COO of Firestorm outlines:

  • Why the chance of a cybersecurity breach to your business increases every day.
  • How business will be impacted at many levels: the human level, the operational level, the reputational level and the financial level.

This webinar will discuss the very basics of data breach prevention. This is the precursor to our next session: When Your Customer Knows More Than You Do – The Breach Blindside.
