Bruce T. Blythe


Bruce Blythe is an internationally acclaimed crisis management expert, certified clinical psychologist, and veteran of the Marine Corps’ Military Police. Bruce has personally been involved in various crises over the past twenty years such as the Oklahoma City bombing, 9/11, Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina. He serves as a consultant and certified coach to numerous Fortune 500 executives and managers in strategic crisis leadership, preparedness, and response. Bruce is widely regarded as a thought leader in the crisis management and business continuity industries. He has authored two books Blindsided: A Manager’s Guide to Catastrophic Incidents in the Workplace and Blindsided: A Manager’s Guide to Crisis Leadership and actively provides commentary in The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Business Week, and Fortune. Bruce has appeared on NBC’s Today Show, CNN, ABC’s 20/20, CBS’ 48 Hours, NPR, and others.

Dr. Les Kertay, Ph.D., ABPP, LP

Chief Medical Officer

Les Kertay, a licensed and board-certified clinical psychologist, provides clinical direction and perspective to all areas of R3 Continuum as chief medical officer. He brings extensive experience and expertise in the arena of mind-body health including disability medicine, chronic pain, health behaviors, and managing workplace absence. With over 15 years in executive leadership positions in the medical and vocational areas of the disability insurance industry, Dr. Kertay has presented at national and international conferences on topics related to the psychological aspects of work and disability, practical approaches to managing psychosocial issues in medical practice, pain management, somatoform and personality disorders, and professional ethics. Also, in addition to other publications, he is a contributor to three books on psychosocial aspects of complex disability claims and is lead editor for the AMA Guides to Navigating Disability Benefit Systems. Dr. Kertay is also a practicing clinician and industry consultant.

Jim is a nationally recognized expert in the field of preparedness and crisis management and has led in the development of national standards for pollution prevention, risk management, and environmental due diligence. He has spoken to hundreds of groups on risk management, crisis management, governance, and disaster planning.
