While “malicious” insider threat is a concern for many businesses, many may be surprised to learn that this isn’t the primary area of potential damage for most organizations today. The main point of compromise for many attacks today is the “accidental” insider or PICNIC: Problem In Chair Not In Computer.
Crisis Coach Register
The accidental insider is someone who honestly and earnestly believes they are doing their job well and presents no threat to the employer, but is tricked, manipulated or “socially engineered” into allowing someone to cause harm to the organization. A significant proportion of computer and organizational security professionals believe insider threat is the greatest risk to their enterprise, and more than 40% report that their greatest security concern is employees accidentally jeopardizing security through data leaks or similar errors.

Join Firestorm CEO and President Jim Satterfield & Michael C. Redmond (Lead Strategic Consultant, EFPR Group), as we explore opportunities to identify risks and educate and train employees to protect against the Accidental Insider.
