Disaster Ready People, Inc. adheres to a three-step disaster preparedness process: Evaluate. Equip. Empower. We begin each step with our definition of the heading term and include an abbreviated explanation of what you will have accomplished upon completion of each step.
Despite the risk of sounding repetitive, we are ending our three-step process with the use of yet another verb: “empower.” We like this definition: “to give authority to somebody: to give somebody power or authority.” But we are especially fond of the second definition: “to make more confident or assertive: to give somebody a greater sense of confidence or self-esteem”
How could we describe it any better? Our desire for you is to be so well prepared and confident that you don’t think twice about being your own first responder. Upon completion of your Personal Preaction™ Plan you will have that ability and, by extension, the authority to help skeptical family members, friends, neighbors and others within your sphere of influence, to do likewise. Just think what an impact you could make on promoting self-sufficiency in your community. So, what are you waiting for?
