Texas-based Firestorm franchisees offer clients diverse expertise

AUG. 30, 2010                                                                                                          FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ROSWELL, Ga. – Texas residents Charles Cross and Missan Eido have dissimilar business backgrounds. That helps make them ideal partners in a new Firestorm® consulting franchise.

Cross and Eido are positioned to provide clients with expertise on a wide variety of business continuity issues ranging from global supply chain management, system/process integration and auditing compliance, to physical security and executive protection.

The new franchisees also will utilize all capabilities and services of Firestorm Solutions LLC, a national leader in crisis management, vulnerability analysis/threat assessment, risk mitigation and business continuity, including its name and trademark; operational methodology including plans, policies, procedures and training; and access to its staff, Expert Council and Online Resource Center. Each franchisee is awarded the entire United States as a territory.

“Most people understand instinctively the notion of adversity preparedness,’’ Eido said. “However, being truly prepared depends on predicting the relevant risks, planning for contingencies and performing during and after adverse events.’’

Firestorm (www.firestorm.com) provided the on-site crisis management support at Virginia Tech, and has teamed up with W.W. Grainger Inc., the national leader in maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) products, to offer business continuity and preparedness products and services.

Firestorm recently launched the Preaction Alliance™,a first-of-its-kind network making preparedness accessible and affordable for businesses of all types and sizes. A free 30-day trial is available at www.preaction.com; thereafter, Membership costs less than $1 a day.

The implementation of Public Law 110-53 (Title IX-Private Sector Preparedness), which mandates the Department of Homeland Security certify business continuity plans in the private sector, creates wide-ranging opportunities for the BCP industry. Other significant drivers include new communicable illness outbreaks; the increase in natural disasters with climate change; and elevated exposure to mass violence.

“We believe that our combined 55 years business experience will provide a well-balanced reservoir from which we will draw to serve our clients,’’ said Cross, who will operate out of Houston and can be reached at ccross@firestorm.comor (281) 380-4222.

Eido will operate out of Austin/San Antonio and can be reached at meido@firestorm.comor (512) 507-6930.

“Charlie and Missan combine to provide a unique breadth of business expertise,’’ Firestorm Franchising EVP Hutch Hodgson said. “It’s a great example of how a partnership can benefit both the franchisees and their clients.’’
