Dave Flora - About Us
As the Principal in the Chicagoland office, Dave brings more than 20 years of business communications experience and expertise to Firestorm. Dave is also the President of Business Process Solutions, an Chicago-based company which specializes in B2B Business Development and Marketing Consulting. As the founder of Business Process Solutions, Dave’s vision aligns with Firestorm’s focus on the human impacts of disaster (Every Crisis is a Human Crisis) and goal of building a Culture of Preparedness in the U.S. private sector.
Just prior to joining Firestorm, Dave was a MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) Channel Manager for Amplivox Emergency Sound Systems, dedicated to serving the large W.W.Grainger client base. Flora is also the Midwest Regional Manager for WINN Solutions, whose Winn Item Tracking System was both "first to market" and "best to market", and automates diverse tracking and processes from Corporate receiving areas to end user destinations, providing chain of custody for accountable and high value items and packages using a SaaS modeled, web based technology platform. By automating these largely manual processes, Dave helps client build dashboards to trace and track packages, people and processes, helping corporations eliminate paper based processes and get a little Greener in the process.
During his business mail career, of more than 20 years, he specialized in working with medium-sized businesses, national and multi-national organizations, government agencies at all levels and niches including healthcare, manufacturers, mortgage servicers, law firms and other professional services providers. A critical component of Daves compliance managements responsibilities was helping organizations develop and implement customized business mail notification plan for time sensitive legal notices.
Mr Flora, who is originally from Pennsylvania by way of California, also brings to Firestorm a passion for designing and developing risk mitigation strategies for corporate services centers, such as mail centers, print services and receiving areas for Fortune 1000 companies.
Dave also designed and managed the supply chain for the patented Walz Certifed Mailer which automated the process of preparing "Certified Mail/Return Receipt Requested". Over 250 million certified mailings using this clever invention have been deposited with the USPS since 1990, resulting in "millions of minutes" in time savings in those business processes needing "evidence of mailing" and "proof of receipt" to be in compliance of time sensitive notification processes.
As a strategic partner to clients, Mr. Floras Firestorm team specializes in helping the private sector build a ‘‘Culture of Preparedness’’ through customized solutions. This includes invaluable consulting on areas such as Disaster Due Diligence™; the Congressional mandate that the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA establish a certification program for Business Continuity Plans in the private sector (Public Law 110-53, Title IX; Continuation of Operations Planning (COOP); the increase in natural disasters related to climate change; private sector, public sector and non-profit sector collaboration on preparedness; the ongoing threat of terrorism at home and abroad; communicable illness and pandemic planning and Preaction®. Mr Flora is also available for seminars and workshops, presentations, training sessions, speaking engagements and other forums to promote a culture of preparedness in business and community.
