Scoping Benchmark/Gap Analysis
Business Continuity Scoping Analysis
Firestorm will conduct a scoping benchmark/gap analysis of existing plans/processes/procedures. We believe preparedness begins with forward looking prevention. Firestorm’s scoping research will focus on operations, emergency response, employees, organization, systems, facilities, communication, and risks that an organization faces. Firestorm will analyze security, natural and man-made disasters, terrorism, and communicable illness/pandemic exposures along with current disaster plans, insurance, human resource policies, communications, critical supply chain, and other applicable areas.
Firestorm’s scoping process includes document and procedure review, questionnaires, surveys, personal interviews, and a site assessment. The data gathered in this process will be used for purposes of assessing the status of your existing preparedness. Thereafter, if necessary, Firestorm will propose enhancements to existing plans, as well as an implementation strategy. An added benefit the client derives from the scoping process is that Firestorm will be positioned to provide crisis response services on a standby basis as part of our planning services. The analysis of existing plans will also assist Firestorm in designing and conducting a test exercise to focus on the crisis decision process. Together, we will create a comprehensive Business Continuity Plan that includes an Enterprise Level Plan, Business Unit Template Plans, and Facility Level Templates as necessary. Firestorm will also identify strategic advantages relative to your competition and leverage potential revenue opportunities.
Pandemic Scoping Process
The H5N1 virus (avian flu), which is currently threatening to become a mass scale, human-to-human transmissible virus, represents a significant threat. Given the statistics and forecasts, the standard for companies is high. From the directors to senior management to employees, there needs to be an integrated comprehensive Communicable Illness/Pandemic Plan to understand and minimize the impacts, sustain operating revenues, maintain employee and customer confidence, and accelerate recovery. From outbreak inception to complete recovery could take 18 to 24 months.
H5N1 should be addressed as well as other similar future health threats and communicable diseases including MRSA Staph infection. These additions will help improve the overall preparedness and effectiveness of the current plan. Firestorm will conduct a scopingbenchmark/gap analysis of existing Communicable Illness/Pandemic Plans. Firestorm will review existing documents, policies, and procedures.. Upon completion of the scoping analysis, Firestorm can complete an interim Communicable Illness/Pandemic Plan for immediate use within 30 days. A permanent, integrated plan can thereafter be developed. In formulating a Communicable Illness/Pandemic Plan, existing components of the current Business Continuity Plan will be utilized wherever possible. This plan will become a permanent addition to the Business Continuity Plan and will respond to pandemics as well as other similar future health threats. Many features of the plan will help improve overall preparedness and the effectiveness of the current plan.
