Ed Levy Global Security ExpertEdward M. Levy is a seasoned and innovative, senior security executive with over 29 years of experience leading people and complex organizations in the corporate and US Government sectors.

Mr. Levy is the former Vice President, Global Head of Security for Thomson Reuters (NYSE/TSX: TRI), and he was the Director of Security for the Empire State Building.

Previously, he was the Director and Vice President of Global Security & Business Continuity for the CIT Group (NYSE: CIT), a leading financial and commercial lending firm, with its global headquarters in New York City.

Ed Levy Feature in Security MagazinePrior to CIT, Mr. Levy was the Director for Headquarters & Global Security Operations for Pfizer (NYSE: PFE), the world's largest pharmaceutical research and manufacturing company for human and animal healthcare.

Mr. Levy is a recognized leader within the corporate security industry for his expertise in Enterprise Resilience and Operational Risk Management – which includes the disciplines of physical security, personnel protection, information protection, logistics security, travel risk management, crisis management, executive protection, workplace violence, business continuity, and occupational safety.

His role as an antiterrorism and physical security expert when working for the US Government has been significantly instrumental in establishing business protection programs in various corporate sectors. Mr. Levy served on the Professional Development Committee for the International Security Management Association (ISMA) and the previous year he organized and led the Banking and Financial Sector breakout sessions for the ISMA membership.

Before joining Pfizer, Mr. Levy was the Senior Security Analyst for Shearer & Associates, an architectural and engineering consulting firm in Huntsville, Alabama. Mr. Levy provided management and technical support to the US Army Corps of Engineers. The two major contracts he supported were for the New York City Department of Environment Protection Security Upgrade Project to add increased security measures for the New York City water system and the US Army Access Control Point Equipment Program to standardize security systems and procedures for entry into Army installations throughout the world.

Mr. Levy is a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army. He served over 21-years as a Military Police Officer at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels.

Some of his significant assignments were in the Pentagon, Washington DC on The Army Staff managing security and antiterrorism policy, budget, and operations in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, and also served as a member of the Army Crisis Action Team during Presidentially declared disasters requiring Military Support to Civilian Authorities (MSCA) under the Department of Defense Director of Military Support; Chief of the Antiterrorism and Force Protection Branch for US Army Europe in Heidelberg, Germany; Deputy Provost Marshal (Police Chief) for V Corps, Heidelberg, Germany; Brigade S3 Officer (Plans and Operations Officer) for the 18th Military Police Brigade, Mannheim, Germany; Provost Marshal Task Force Hawk, Operation Allied Force, Albania; Black Market Task Force Leader, Task Force Eagle, Bosnia-Herzegovina; and Commander, US Army security element for US European Command, Stuttgart, Germany.

He obtained a BS from Western Carolina University and a MPA from the University of Oklahoma.

Mr. Levy is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Army Command and General Staff College. He has also been awarded the academic title of Assistant Professor while serving as the Chief of Military Science at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY.

Mr. Levy serves on the Chief Security Officer Committee for the National Law Enforcement Memorial Museum. He is as a Board Member for RESALLC International Ltd., which is a disabled veteran, owned small business operating in the Middle East, Southwest Asia, Europe, and North America. Mr. Levy is also a Board Member for the Armed Forces Reserve Family Assistance Fund. Mr. Levy is a dynamic public speaker and featured on the cover of Security Magazine for January 2012.
